FAQ

What makes Resurrection Wellness different?

Resurrection Wellness utilizes a holistic approach to treating patients, as we know that healing occurs from a cellular level. With this mindset, Jordan has been able to help people from both a physical therapy standpoint as well as a functional nutrition standpoint and aims to support the body’s ability to heal through the use of appropriate functional movement, mindset techniques, nutritional balance and potential supplemental support. Just as every person is unique, Jordan utilizes a bio-individual approach so that no individual’s treatment plan and protocol are the same. Jordan also offers complete ONE-on-ONE guidance for a full hour to ensure that you are getting the best care possible!

How is physical therapy related to nutrition?

Physical therapy and nutrition go hand in hand. As mentioned previously, in order to heal from an injury or prevent an injury, one must address the ability for the body to heal at a cellular level. By supporting the body nutritionally, this will help improve the body’s ability to heal and can decrease rates of healing time for many people or for some FINALLY provide an answer as to where some of their chronic pain might be stemming from.

What is involved in the initial exam?

Physical therapy:

  • An initial PT exam consists of a review of a patient’s medical history (possible red flags) as well as current signs and symptoms, a comprehensive examination and functional movement screen, treatment (including: dry needling, Graston technique, cupping, myofascial release, Rocktape and e-stim for muscle activation), prescription of patient-specific exercises to address their current muscle imbalances and initiate a treatment plan to allow a patient to return to their highest movement potential.

Functional Nutritional Therapy

  • A functional nutrition initial consult consists of a thorough review of a patient’s signs and symptoms, an in depth interpretation of bloodwork from a functional perspective (likely VERY different from your PCP), and muscle energy testing to determine energy imbalances in the body including possible exposures to parasites, heavy metals, chemicals, environmental toxins, pathogenic bacteria, viruses, myocotoxins, Lyme and Lyme co-infections. Jordan will then outline a protocol specifically designed for YOU and your current needs to help bring your body back into balance and eliminate your current signs and symptoms.

What is muscle-energy testing (aka applied kinesiology)?

a.     The body contains within it and surrounding it an electrical network otherwise known as pure energy. As energy runs through every part of your body, including your muscle, if anything impacts your electrical system that does not maintain or improve your body’s balance, your muscles will experience a ‘short circuit’ and weaken temporarily (including thoughts, emotions, foods and other substances).

b.     By using your muscles, we can determine what might “weaken” or “strengthen” your body, and this is why we call it muscle testing. More or less, it is God’s opportunity to speak to us about what is occurring in your body through the holy spirit to tap into the subconscious mind, which harnesses excessive amounts of information from years past.

Is insurance accepted and are payment plans offered?

a.     Resurrection Wellness unfortunately does NOT accept insurance, although an individual may take a super-bill and submit to insurance themselves for reimbursement. Due to the nature of the one-on-one time, this as an incredible value for your time and money as you have 60 minutes each session to have a highly skilled DPT and FNTP to analyze your body’s movement and ask any necessary questions related to your health and healing.

b.     Because of this, there are package options available for purchase. Please click here to view.

What is the cost of each visit?

a.     PT initial examination for 1 hour = $180

b.     PT follow up for 1 hour = $160

c.      Functional Nutrition initial consult (1 hour) =$250

d.     Functional nutrition follow up (30 min) = $99

Do I need to bring anything to my first physical appointment?

Please come prepared with appropriate clothing (see below), any imaging, Dr’s protocols, prescriptions or notes.

How do I schedule to get my bloodwork done?

Please schedule an initial functional nutrition consult with Dr. Jordan May and you will receive a lab requisition shortly afterward. You will go to any LabCorp near you to get them done.

What do you get with your bloodwork?

There are three tiers of bloodwork panels available: basic panel, full panel, and thyroid panel only. Click below to view what specifically is included within each type of panel.

How many physical therapy sessions will I need and how often?

a.     This answer very dependent on the injury…

b.     If you are recovering from an intensive surgery (labrum, PAO, ACL etc.), please expect 6—12 months for recovery time utilizing a PT for 2x/week for the first 3-6 mo and potentially decreasing to 1x/week for the months up until your recovery is nearly complete.

c.      If it is a minor sprain, strain or tear, please expect 6-12 weeks from 1 to 2x/week for a full recovery.

d.     Looking for prevention or maintenance? I recommend seeing a PT once a month!

Do I need to see my Dr. before coming to physical therapy?

In the state of Colorado, we have direct access, which allows patients to see a physical therapist before going to see a Dr. to save you time and money. Because nearly all PT’s have a doctorate degree, we know when it is appropriate to refer out to other disciplines as well as for imaging (x-rays, MRI’s, ultrasounds etc.).

Why should I receive physical therapy for my injury?

If injuries are left untreated or are treated inappropriately, this may lead to many issues down the road including… poor range of motion, limited strength, inability to function as you prefer, development of compensatory patterns etc. Taking care of a problem early will prevent worsening of symptoms and can shorten the length of treatment time over an extended period of time.

What should I wear to my physical therapy appointment?

Please wear loose fitted clothing (shorts and loose fitted shirt) with a sports bra and comfortable shoes (tennis shoes are ideal).

Can I receive services for physical therapy without the nutrition side and vice versa if I only need those services?

Yes! Some individuals only require one or the other and it is not necessary to always utilize both services at the same time. However, at any given time, you are allowed to begin treatment for the other service that you are not currently utilizing.
