There is no ‘one size fits all’ in diet and nutrition as each person is unique and has different needs. Anatomy, metabolism, genetics, microbiome, and cell structure all influence overall health and nutrition requirements. We each have unique dietary needs, sensitivities, and triggers that are influenced by a number of factors. Some of us may thrive on eggs, while others end up with skin and gut issues. Some people may tolerate dairy, while others experience inflammatory reactions after consumption. Some people greatly benefit from cutting carbs, while others need to eat more carbs to fully heal and recover. What each of us puts into our bodies can manifest differently in our outer bodies, which again is why Dr. May believes physical therapy and nutrition go hand in hand.

All of this can be extremely confusing for someone who doesn’t know where to start. That is why Dr. May believes assessing bio-individuality is so crucial. Dr. May is passionate about helping her patients figure out their personal eco-system and determine what will help them not only feel better, but thrive. This assessment will take into consideration the patient’s health history, in-depth signs and symptoms, and an analysis of bloodwork from a functional perspective which will allow Dr. May to create a plan that is completely customized and tailored to the patient’s individual findings and results.
